#Amiga UNIX on GVP 040?

I have a G-Force 040 board in an A2000 and I have the opportunity to
get an Amiga UNIX tape and boot disks. I've been told it's only for
the 030. Is there anything I can do, maybe with CPU options, to make
the thing run anyway? Also, although the floppies are good tested on
an 030 A2000, they aren't bootable or even readable on my machine. I
think this may be due to different ROM's on the Commodore 030 card.
Is there a ROM upgrade or space on the board for the Commodore ROM's
if I can get them? I'd like to be able to run UNIX if possible.

The Commodore Amiga Unix (AMIX) was written for the 68030 CPand MMU
instruction set. Since CBM decided not to pursue Unix any further,
they did not develop a version which will work with the 68040. Since
the probs are at the CPU/MMU level, there's no way to fix it.
There are two alternatives, there are free Unix clones, NetBSD and
Linux, both derived from BSD-Unix, which are under active
development. NetBSD has seen much activity of late and they are just
about to release the formal version 1.0 and make it available via
CD-ROM in addition to the usual FTP access. Fred Fish's Amiga
Library Services (and undoubtedly others) plan on carrying the CD.
There has also been a spurt of activity of late with Amiga Linux.
I've got NetBSD running on my Amiga 2000 with a GVP Combo 40 board and
the usual gang of peripherals.
