#DKB Megachip problems?

Dean It happens at irregular intervals, sometimes shortly after powerup,
sometimes after the system has been up for a long time. I'm running 2.1 and
had been running it for a long time before t problems suddenly appeared.
For a while there it looked like the probs had gone away, but then they
reappeared.
I got ahold of another Megachip 2000 and swapped it for the one I had in the
machine – no problems since.
The problems usually seemed to happen when something in a program which used a
large amount of chip mem happened. Large cut/paste, for example, or a
activation / deactivation of a graphic screensaver like Frac881.
When I get a chance I'll give you folks a call to see if I can send in the
possibly defective Megachip for a checkout. I'm pretty sure that I've had it
for >12 months so it would be beyond the warranty.

We extended the warranty to 2 years on the MegAChip, so I'd see about
sending it in as soon as possible.
BTW, It does appear as the problem is probably to Agnus.

Dean – thanks for the info about extended warranty – that's a nice touch. I've
been swamped at work with some software covversions so I haven't been
remembering to call until I get back home in the eves, which is too late.
