I hope it works for you, Doug. -Alan

Actually, it didn't. Load the Lo-Top off the CD and try to boolean half of the sole away. A very strange thing happens. The inside face of the boolean box (I used the GRIDS IPAS) gets ATTACHED to the sole!! I gave up and did something different. But I would like to know what is happening in that boolean. My wishlist for R4 consists of only two things: 1) A global command caled BEVEL for beveling text (or other objects. 2) ANY object should be slicable in any way. I should be able to take any object and cut it in half. – Doug Wolfgram/GRAFX, Written 27-Aug-1994 @ 06:19:27 Using: Windows NavCIS PRO 1.2

Ummm, I had absolutely no problem booleaning the Lo-top sole in half, Doug. I just used a simple box for a subtraction object, and it was slice 'n dice!<g> -Alan

Did you do it as a vertical slice? So you generate a cut-away of the sole from the side? I used a GRIDS box instead of regular box. I'll try the box routine. My result was the left edge of the boz attached to the sole. Wierd! – Doug Wolfgram/GRAFX, Written 29-Aug-1994 @ 06:37:09 Using: Windows NavCIS PRO 1.21

Yes, Doug, I sliced the sole vertically by intersecting a simple box with the sole in the top and right viewports. I believe that yes, a cut-away of the sole was what I ended up with. Sometimes boolean functions do have weird results. A little face-manipulation usually can clean up any little bits that are left. -Alan
