#3DS in windows
4 messages in this thread
Has anyone had any luck in running 3DS from windows. I see no
documentation in the manuals. I keep getting a pharlap error when I try to do
it. My assumption is that it is possible since an icon is available. Thanks
for any help.
Hi !
The best way I found to use 3DS in Win is to make a special 3DS.SET files for
Win. I copy 3DS.set , rename it 3DSWIN.SET and put it in the 3DS directory. I
start 3DS with this set file and configure 3DS with default drivers (not the
ones for your specific board). After I configure the 3DS.pif files like they
suggest in Inside 3DStudio book. The Optional parameters line should include
the SET=3DSWIN.set statement. With that, on my system 3DS work well. But if you
check for the available RAM, you will see that you loose much of those precious
ones to keep the Windows open…

Have you tried looking in the Installation Guide? Specifically, page 95.
