Greg- Thank you very much for your time, and your reply. I think that the setup you have is ideal for what I'm wanting to accomplish (yay!). What type of network are you running (i.e. interface cards from PC to Sparc, and software)? Is it the INFS system I've read about? If so, what is the throughput rate from PC to Sparc? This is probably a naive question (I have mucho experience with DOS PC's, but not much on networks), but is it really possible to run Unix as a server, and Dos on the remote PC's? Does this mean that you can have a Unix ACAD session running WHILE running one 3DS session in DOS? Or are you running OS2 on your PC's, thereby being able to have a 3DS AND Animator Pro session running with your Unix ACAD session? Or, do you just run one session of either of the three at any one time……..Am I making any sense? Sorry for the deluge of questions, but I'm getting pretty excited here (professionally speaking, of course <BG>). Again, Thank you very much for your time, and it is refreshing to see another Architect in the world jumping on the new technology out there, rather than buying just enough to "get by" with 2D drafting. (In my meager opinion), 3D is the future, and those of us on the cutting edge will benefit greatly (lecture over……). Again, thanks alot 🙂 Joe

Joe: It would take a book the size of "Inside 3D Studio" to answer all your questions! Been there, done that! :^) Just give me a call at the office (714) 833-0334 around 6:00pm some night and I'd be happy to go over them with you! Greg Pyros

Don: Lancaster, PA? Small world! When I was a wee tyke, my father's architectural firm did the Host Farm motel down there – we traveled there 4 times a month to check out the construction. Many fond childhood memories. They also did the Park City Shopping center, and a handful of other projects in the area. I then went up to beautiful Troy, NY for six cold years while at RPI. Went straight from there to So. Cal. for some heat, never left! Greg Pyros

I know the Host Farm well. Prom Night 1966. My father was one of the construction Super's on the Park City job too. Real small world.
