An associate has bought a Diamond Stealth SE PCI 1mb video card for his P90.
According to the specs it can handle 16million colours at 800×600 resolution
but NONE of the S3 vibrant drivers will let him do it. What are the
alternatives? Should I wait for the next update to the vibrant drivers?

I don't think the 1 mb is going to cut it. I have the same card with 4MB VRAM
and I have no problems with resolutions. Tyr upgrading the amount of RAM on the
card

I assume you've tried the latest (1.0.7.p1) Vibrant drivers. They're later
than the ones shipped with 3DS.
I have added your request to the wishlist. Hopefully you can use a workaround,
like VESA, in the meantime.
