I have been trying to get a proper reflection on a glass ball with autoreflect.
The effect would be that of the old time garden gazing ball with some
transparency.
It seems that I cannot get rid of the "patch" that comes from the "up" view. I
have looked through the manuals but haven't been able to see how to eliminate
this effect. I have tried using a .cub file but as expected the result is the
same. I could edit the .cub images, but this is for a moving scene and I must
spend the time to calculate each map for the proper reflection.
Does anyone have any tips on scene construction that will minimize this effect,
or any way to eliminate the effect without manualy editing many .cub images?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Tom
Tom, It sounds like you may not have any sky _geometry_. Try putting a big
hemisphere around your scene and see if that helps. Don't forget to flip the
surface normals of the object. Hope it helps.
