I use 3DS R4 but IPAS pricing has bee insane I think you get more bang for the buck in LW well just have to wait and see what the full product does. Will

>> I use 3DS R4 but IPAS pricing has been insane I think there is some hope that IPAS pricing may actually come down a bit because programming them will get easier and there will be a greater range of tools available to write them (in theory anything that can create a DLL). One problem the IPAS market has is that it is quite rare to have a choice of vendors for a particular effect. If the investment in developer time comes down we may see some more competition. Hell, I'm even going to try it myself. Andrew.

I was looking at writing some IPAS, but when I found out the startup price alone, I said ">BLEEP< that." Now though, I've already got VC++ and the SDK ships _with_ MAX. Startup cost will be zero. That is much better. – gruhn

LW is not as good as you might think we have LW experts here and when they saw 3ds R4 they were blown away. LW is very quirky-I know for a fact the pre-release is pretty much what you get! -Bill
