#3DS Max WIn95 version
9 messages in this thread
SOmebody knows if 3DS MAX will come in a Windows 95 version or it'll be only
for Windows NT.
Thanks in advance, JOC
Max will be for NT only. Classic may work under Win95, though I am not sure.
Have to wait and see.

From the screenshots I saw it looks like Win95. In the press release it says
that 3DS Max will use Win95 interface, but the screenshot showed the Taskbar
too. Which is not part of 3D Studio, it belongs to the Win95 OS. Does anybody
have any idea why did the screenshots looked as if they were running 3DS Max in
Win95.

It's hard to say if it was W95 or WinNT3.51 with the 95 Shell. NT 3.6 is due
toward the end of 1995, and it will have the full W95 Shell, that would be the
right time for 3DS MAX to ship. Win95 doesn't have OpenGL at this point, but
I'm not sure if 3DS MAX needs it.
I'll be running NT because it supports dual processors and I don't know how
stable W95 will be.
Tim:
I believe you are correct the interface shown in the screen capture is that of
NT 3.51 which uses a beta of the Windows95 GUI. MAX is NT only according to
the official word.

We were showing MAX in WinNT 3.51 with the Windows 95 shell, not Windows 95.

Yep, that's what I thought you said at the demo, some were confused by the
look of the interface. Nice work with Biped by the way.

I didn't write it, just demo'ed it, but thanks!

Mohammed, It looked that way because MAX was running under WinNT with the Beta
Win95 GUI.
Believe me, MAX is strictly a native WinNT program, and it really couldn't be
any other way.
