I am using the vapor Ipas. I applied it to a AXPbox object behind a missle to create a trail effect. I think I set everythink right….the wind direction, the directoin of the emitter, the strength….blah blah blah…but when I go to the keyframer….the trails would render in a weird direction…sometimes emitting vapors opposite the direction I specified! My crude solution to this was to flip the axpbox around to the direction the vapors wanted to go and it worked….but this is crazy…there should be a better way to do this. What do you think could be the problem? Thanks in advance.

Do you have you Secondary Motion Data (SMD) set correctly? You can make sure it is by entering Object/Attributes in the KF, hitting setup and then pressing OK. this will save our motion data for you AXP object based on it's animation in your scene. -Kyle

Thanks….I already tried that SMD thing….I think it is the orientation issue that's causing it…..I'll try it on my next run.

Hi Erick, << What do you think could be the problem? >> In addition to Kyle's question regarding SMD, have you changed the default creation orientation of the AXPBOX? On pg 63 of the Disk #3 docs, it states that all vapor effects are oriented to the world coordinate system. jonas[adesk]
