Hi. I'm new to this so please bear with me if I'm going about this all wrong. I'm looking for a IPAS routine to do character animation as easy as possible. Actually, I saw a booth at Siggraph last week a character animation program using direct audio input (the guy was speaking into a microphone and the character moves its facial features according to what and how the guy was speaking). I would like to know if there is an IPAS for 3DS that would be able to do something similar. Any input or direction to someone who may be of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! — Gigi

Hi Gigi, Perhaps you should open a line of dialog with Mike White. I think he might have some insight into this type of technology. Lee

There is more detailed info and sample images in the ANVENA – New Anim Vendor section library. Just search it with the keyword CRESTLINE and all the relevant files will come up. Humanoid comes with a series of morph targets for animating facial expressions, including phonetics of speech. It doesn't support direct audio input, like the demo you may have seen. But I've seen some users sync sound to them quite successfully. The kit comes with four articulated figures a man, woman, child and strongman, walking and running motions for each, and morphable hand gestures. It's designed to make human animation just about as easy as possible in 3DS, and it's quite affordable. If you have any questions. I'll be happy to elaborate,… but do take a look at the images in ANVENA, they should give you an excellent idea what the models can do. -Tim Wilson, Crestline Software
