#Help Needed…

We use 2d and 3d systems, and are interested in possibly picking up autodesk
studio or the most recent version of animator pro…for our purposes,
multimedia isn't important, but we do need conversion capabilities,24 bit
colour, etc… what are the advantages of one program over another?

some quick thoughts… if you need 24-bit, Animator Pro is out as it is an
8-bit engine (a rugged and customizable 8-bit engine at that)… Animator
Studio is capable of exporting to a variety of still image and movie formats.
however, keep in mind AStudio is a 2.5D application… it does not work with 3D
meshes generated from AutoCAD and 3D Studio. images generated by both of these
3D apps can be imported though.
as to Animator Pro compared with Animator Studio… there is about 30% overlap
in general functionality.. but beyond that they are very different programs.
Animator Pro is a palette-controlling c-programmable memory-frugal 8-bit DOS
speed demon while Animator Studio is a keyframable, filter-ink compatible,
24-bit with 8-bit alpha channel, paint by sound and digital video Windows
multimedia monster. <g>
sounds like AStudio is more aligned with your description though.

make sure you have c1 update (or put it in progress by callling registration
center), huge swap file, and using Win3.1 or WFWG3.11. 🙂
