Can anyone tell me please if a SCSI II harddrive is able to run with a standard
old SCSI controller?
If not then my next question would be can I do a simple chip upgrade on a SCSI
controller to make it SCSI II or do I have to buy a whole new controller?
TIA
You should be able to use a SCSI-II drive on an old SCSI controller. You
should check to see if it has a jumper that lets you select it as a SCSI-I or
SCSI-II hard drive. If so, then jumper it as SCSI-I and you should be fine.
You can always contact tech support of the HD manufacturer as well to verify if
it does work or not.
