New to this graphics format and having a hard time trying to find a graphics viewer/converter for .LHA graphics files. Can someone advise ? Platform is PC-Compatible 386/33. Is this even possible ?

.LHA is a data compression format, not a grpahics file format. To decompress files with the .LHA extension you'll need to download LHA138.RUN from library 16 of AmigaUser Forum (G AMIGAU). It is a self extracting archive: just download it as LHA138.RUN, place it in ram:, CD to ram: and enter: LHA138.RUN that will explode all of the files to ram: then type: COPY LHA C: which will put LHA in your C: directory. Read the documentation for LHA (which is now in RAM:) Basically, to unpack a file, use the command, CD to the directory you want the file(s) to go: and type: LHA -x x <pathname>:<archivename.LHA>

Michael, How is he going to run LHA138.RUN on an 486? I run this program on my Amiga and certainly not the 386 bridgeboard! He may have to use one for IBM clones. Forum GRAPHSUP is just one of the forums with the following file: IBM File Finder+ Forum Name: GRAPHSUP Library: 'Go Graphics' Help (1) Accesses: 2306 Size: 44381 File: LHA213.EXE Submitted: [75300,2050] 05-Sep-91 LHA is a free archiver (this version for MS-DOS), creating and unpacking LZH archive files. LHA replaces LHArc 1.xx. This is a self-extracting archive Sincerely, (Mr.) Gayle Lee Fairless 'Perfessor Fearless' from the Rocket City! via AutoPilot 1.03a

Gayle, Opps! hehe I'm gald you caught that <g> I tend to assume that if someone is asking a question in the AmigaArts Forum that they are using an Amiga (how silly of me)… I missed the last line of his message. Thanks for posting the msdos LHA reference.

Michael, You're welcome! 🙂 I found the same lha 2.13 file in a German forum with a '93 upload date. It's the same size and name. It's all over the different forums that have a lot of clone traffic. Not that I'm going to do an extensive search to poll the forums! $-\ Anyway, he PROBABLY should be using an Amiga! 😉 Right! You can tell Larry (Doesn't he work for VRLI?) that I finally got a copy of Distant Suns 4.2! The local Amiga dealer is giving the local Amiga club members a 25% discount on software in stock. I also had some store credit to use. It definitely cut the list price nicely! 😀 The local dealer is also trying to host a Toasters Users Group that may affiliate with the North Alabama Society of Amiga Users (NASAU). (NASAU gets confused quite often with NASA.) ACI, the local dealer is (205) 837-9324 for those in the southeast region trying to get in touch with toaster users. Our IEEE Computer Faire is February 18 and 19, a Friday and Saturday, at the Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, AL. Vendors and user groups really get to strut their stuff!
