Hi Everyone! I`ve got a problem with downloading and de-compressing! I wanted
to use a GUI, and so was recommended to the `Autopilot ` prog- over in
Amigavendoor. I down loaded it only to find that it had been compressed [D sed
using the LHA program. I then downloaded the LHA prog- from librarie 14 over in
Amiga fouser in the hope that it would de-compress it for me. Trouble is i
don`t know how to use thghe LHA program, or how to even get it up and
running!!! I now have both programs on seperate flkofloppys, and i`m extremely
frustrated. newI don`t know any CLI or SHELL commands, as i`m a very new user
on Amigas and i`m using an Amiga 600 with a 4 Meg Ext. Dual floppuy. 14,400
fax modeedem. I desperatly need to use a more colourfull and resourcefull
program than Ncomm 3.0 please help me!!!!!!!!

First to solve your problem:
Copy both AP.LHA and LHA138.RUN to ram:
Then, type:
CD RAM:
LHA138.RUN
(This will unpack LHA138.RUN, giving you the LHA file and some docs.)
COPY LHA C: (puts LHA in your commands directory for permanent
and easy use.)
LHA X AP.LHA (unpacks AutoPilot into the RAM: disk.)
Next, open the RAM: disk window by clicking on the RAM: icon.
Inside the window, you will find an icon called INSTALLER. Double click on
that and let AutoPilot install itself on your hard drive. The installer
program does all the work. Just tell it you are a novice user, and it will do
everything automatically.
(You do have to open a shell to type the above commands, but they are pretty
easy when you can just copy them. <g>)
And after that is solved, we need to take care of one more thing. Apparently,
when you joined this forum you made a mistake in typing your name. To correct
it, stop at the Forum! prompt, type OPTIONS, select the one for NAME, and then
type both your first and last names. When you leave OPTIONS, make the change
Permanent, and it will be done. Thanks. (If this gives you problems, tell me
how your name is spelled and I can change it for you.)

Copy the Lha138.run to ram. CD to ram: from the cli, type lha138.run. The
file should self-extract. Now, copy LHA to your c: directory. Now, whenever
you want to use LHA, all you have to do is type LHA on a cli line and it will
display all the commands and options that LHA supports.
From there you should be able to unpack AutoPilot. Unfortuately, I'm not
sure you can set up AutoPilot to run well from floppies; a hard drive is really
reccomended.
BTW, one of the few rules in the Amiga forums is that we use our full names.
Please stop at a prompt and type OPT. From there you will see how to change
