Nancy, IMHO (as an ex-pat Brit living in the US for 16 years) it is unlikely you'll see/hear Rush in England. He may be controversial by US standards but I find him pretty tame compared to Messrs Hislop and Merton on "Have I got News for You". I also prefer their ability to slam everybody, not just the "bleeding heart liberals" <g> As someone noted previously, if you haven't heard of Rush you ain't missing much. In fact I can't believe this thread has gone on so long – news on the Amiga (remeber that machine?) must be in short supply !

Steve, The Beeb is currently running "Have I Got Old News For You", the best bits from the show over the years. Merton looked like a schoolkid when he started! Pete p.s. Did that brilliant show from Channel Four, 'Drop the Dead Donkey" get over there?

Peter, I'm not aware that DTDD made it to the states, but CBC in Canada have been showing it. I'll have to see if I can get some tapes of "Old News" sent over – seems to me Merton changes his hair at least once per series <g> Steve

Steve, DTDD, apart from being as viciously funny as HIGNFY, had the extra dimension of topicality, the show was recorded the day before broadcasting, and some stuff done on the day itself. I can't remember word for word, but things like (tv clip on a polo match at Windsor) "I can't stand ill-treatment of dumb animals" "I think the horses enjoy it." "I wasn't talking about the horses!" <g> Cheers, Pete

Peter, <Did that brilliant show from Channel Four, 'Drop the Dead Donkey" get over there?> It's playing on the Comedy Channel Monday nights approx 8:30pm (PDT). I caught it when it first started running (about a month or two ago) and now I hate to miss it! Great show, even though some of the comments go over my head (references to British personalitites that I've never heard of).!! Asha @}–`–,-

Asha, I miss some of the references in Drop the Dead Donkey, and I'm only across the English Channel in Belgium!! Pete

Actually, Rush is broadcast on Armed Forces Radio, and a short wave freq. So you might be able to hear him outside the US. -ash Kyfho
