Hello all! Well, it seems rather empty in this area. Well, since CIS has not made a decision in granting us an area of our own, I guess I'll have to liven things up here and make sure that this forum carries it's weight in activity. If you have any questions regarding Scala MultiMedia MM300, Scala InfoChannel IC400, Scala Echo EE100, or any of our EX modules, please feel free to ask me. I am here to help you. In this forum, I will be posting information from the Technical Support desk with solutions to problems you may be encountering with our products. This may include information on maintenance upgrades and updates. Looking forward to your participation! Sincerely, John Chang Technical/Sales Support Scala, Inc.

John, I have been a great fan of Scala MM200 ever since I got my A4000 back in March '93. I've never been offerred an upgrade to MM300, however. What features are new for MM300 and how do I upgrade? Also, how much is the upgrade? By the way, glad to have you on board. Welcome to CIS! Terry Tabor

Hmm, did you send in your software registration form? All registered owners of any of our software products should have received an MM300 Upgrade Flyer in the mail last month. If you have moved to a different address, this may cause delays or making the flyer undeliverable. Please leave me E-Mail with address so that we can send you a flyer right away. Anyone reading this thread who has not sent in their registration should do so now! The MM300 upgrade offer is for a limited time only! Sincerely, John Chang Technical/Sales Support Scala, Inc.

||*( Hi John, :-9 Sounds great. :-I What is about Opal Vision EX-support? TIA Bruno

Hello Bruno. According to my last conversation with the Scala Development Team, they are still waiting for additional development criteria from OpalTech on their latest modules (eg. Roaster Chip) and supported software. Depending on why quickly and smoothly development goes, we should expect OpalVision support by the end of the 2nd Quarter. This is my best guess. No guarantees! Hello John, I am a fan of Scala and consider myself a basic user of the program. And it's great to see Scala reps. peeking around the forums! I have just received my upgrade to MM300, and I have a question about a little glitch I'm having. After I build a script and SAVE it, and then try to edit one of the pages in the script, the only things that I can change are the page wipes, pause and sound controls. But when I try to edit/change the Text position, text color or anything else, the program blanks the screen (like it is going to go to the editscreen for text) and returns to the main screen/menu of the script. Because of my basic knowledge of the Scala 300 program, What did I do? Is there a flag setting that I can change in the System set up menu so the program will let me edit the pages of a saved script? On a different topic: Echo EE100. I am looking to purchase this product. I called Scala here in Virginia, and talked with a colleague of yours, Mark Rifcan, and he gave me the number of a distributor called Creative Equipment International (1-800-858-3153). Unfortunately they really did not want to talk with me since I"m just a lowly consumer not a distributor. With that said, do you or anyone out there no where I can purchase EE100 through the mail? Thanks!! Sincerely, Russ Waters Mt. Vernon Va.

Call any Amiga dealer who does mail order. If they say the don't have it, tell them they can order it for you from CEI. Rifkin, not Rifcan. — Dale L. Larson, Intangible Assets Manufacturing — INTERNET:dale@iam.com

There is a bug in the Scala Lingua command "Blank". Most problems encounter the problem when a Scala error message appears with "Resolution not supported" after they have saved and quit out of MM300. Approximately 90% of MM300 is new made up of new code by our development team in Norway. They were trying to make the modular functions of our Scala products more efficient. Unfortunately, some bugs cropped up after the release of the software. ;-{ To fix this problem, you will have to make sure that you are only working with the "NTSC" virtual monitor in your "Devs/Monitors" drawer. If other monitors are present in the "Devs/Monitors" drawer (eg. DblNTSC or Multiscan) they will have to be moved back into the "Storage/Monitors" drawer. This same problem may also effect use of the Scala utility "AnimLab". Mind you ladies and gentlemen, that this problem only effects the NTSC version of MM300! We should have a maintenance upgrade of MM300 (free of charge) going out to registered users of Scala MultiMedia MM300. If you own a copy of MM300 and have not registered, I suggest you do that NOW! CEI (Creative Equipment International) is the exclusive distributor of our Scala MultiMedia (MM300) and our Scala Echo (EE100) products. Indeed, they would not be able to help you in your purchase of Echo, due to the contractual agreement between CEI and Scala. You may purchase the Echo product from your local Amiga dealer. You may also be able to purchase the Echo product from a mailorder firm. Try your local dealer first though. If you have any additional questions, please post them here. I hope I've been able to answer your questions. Warmest Regards, John Chang Technical/Sales Support Manager Scala, Inc.
