#IBM to Amiga Image Conv
6 messages in this thread
I am looking to convert several images made with Powerpoint on my PC clone into
IFF files for use in the Video Toaster. Any ideas? Shareware or commercial
utilities? I already have several DOS to DOS programs so that part's not a
problem.
HiJaak (DOS and Windows) can convert a number of PC image formats into an Amiga
IFF. I don't know that it supports Powerpoint directly, but if Powerpoint can
output to different PC file formats, I expect you'll find a combination that
works. A bug in HiJaack's IFF filter prevents a successful conversion from a
metafile — workaround is to first convert to any PC bitmap format, then
convert _that_ to IFF.
Paul,
Tricky, mainly because Powerpoint has lousy export options ! Best bet may be to
print to a file, I have a printer driver on my PC called "Matrix" maybe you
have something similar. Should be able to take this file into the Amiga via
CrossDOS and use ADPro to adjust the resolution to suit your Toaster.
All this is pure speculation of course <g>
Good luck,
Steve
Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. I truely appreciate the help!

Depending on what format they're saved in (I'm not familiar with Powerpoint)
you could use ImageFX, Adpro, Photogenics, all commercial, or Rend24, Superview
(I think) and maybe a couple of others that are PD or Shareware. My personal
favorite is ImageFX as it supports quite a few of the most common formats, but
Photogenics is quite nice also. Unfortunately I've not tried any of the
Pd/Shareware options. Good luck!
