Good to hear from you. Want to jump in here to see if you can be of any help
with an A4091 installed in an A4000 with the Video Toaster. We want to use it
with an internal SCSI drive and an external Exabyte tape backup. When the tape
backup is plugged into the internal connector to the 4091, we get a grey screen
on power on, it flashes, goes gray again, and then puts out a software failure
guru (red on black). It then repeats the cycle.

There are two things you need to check to see if your A4000 has all of
the correct components. First of all you need to check the Buster and make
certain it is the -11 version, second check the 040 card and verify it is
the 3.1 revision. If either of these is worng, you'll need to correct them
first before installing the A4091.

OK, you did ask.
As I described to Asha, when I first switch on everything is fine but only
for about 10 Minutes. After that the Opal display becomes corrupt to the point
of being white with thin horizontal grey lines down the screen. A warm boot
does nothing to solve the problem but neither does a quick cold boot. I have
to knock it off and leave it off for about 10 mins before it will work again,
but even then, only for another 10 mins or less. I've replaced the original
Agnus and it work fine. Tech sopport told me to ask Centaur if the Opal card
worked with the 8375 Chip but I think the answer to that is 'yes' judging by
some kind replies. Just before I forget, it works fine with a big Mod file (2
Meg needed) and DPaint.
The company where I bought it has agreed to replace it just in case but
please ask some more questions if need be.
