#A4091 install

Hank,
<<Screen goes gray, some disk activity, screen flashes, then gray again and
finally guru message. If you leave it alone, it recycles again. Any ideas
would be helpful.>>
Have you tried booting up off of a floppy workbench disk? If this works, then,
get into your shell, cd the harddrive where the system3.x is installed and call
up your harddrive toolbox in your tools directory. Check and see if your system
recognizes the drives that you have on the 2nd.scsi.device (A4091).

Martin,
I only have the tape on the A4091 and no other SCSI device in the system. The
A4000 won't boot from an install floppy with the tape connected to the 4091, so
I haven't had any results since the gray screens and guru.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm still looking.

Hank,
Have you tried to hook up another SCSI device to the 4091? Say a CDROM? Are you
running OS3.1? What revision Buster Chip do you have?SCSI devices. Did
you buy the 4091 from DKB or was it one purchased from Commodore?

Hank, My experience with the A4091 is limited. The only reason I bought it, ou
outside of the fact that I knew that eventually I would attach a CD drive, and
share the same Syquest Removable (between the Emplant and the Amiga side), was
that it was the only (as you might recall) way to get CBM to pay for the Buster
9 to rev 11 fix. As it turns out, the vendor ended up giving a brand new
machine altogether. In any case, first you have to make sure that you have
copied the utilities from the A4091 diskette to your system. Make sure the
address on the card is configured correctly. If all of your devices are
internal, make sure you use the active terminator and that the card is
configured to indicate no external devices. And, if your devices allow address
setup, make sure there is no conflict on the SCSI chain. Outside of this, make
sure all devices are read/recognized on the HDToolBox screen. Good Luck,
Catcha,
