#GoldenGate & A4000
3 messages in this thread
Hi,
Does anyone know if the Vortex GoldenGate 80386SX AT-Emulator for the Amiga
2000/3000 works in an Amiga 4000 ?
I saw one last Saturday in my local computer store and couldn't resist
buying it. Unfortunately the zorro bus auto configuration doesn't seem to work,
as both the start-up board diagnostic and SysInfo show no board present.
Thanks
Fred
Fred: I used the GoldenGate 486 emulator in my 4000 and it seemed to do OK. I
finally got rid of it because I needed the slots. Do you have any other Zorro
cards you can install in your 4000 to make sure the slots are actually working?

Hello John,
thanks for your reply. I've 2 other Zorro cards which work with no problems.
I've tried the GoldenGate with these cards unplugged and in different slots,
but no change. Today I borrowed a Amiga 2000 and tried that, and again the
board is not recognized. This may not mean anything though, as the installation
instructions for the 2000 say you first of all remove the 68000 and fit it into
a cpu adapter, which I don't have. From the picture it looks just like a turned
pin IC socket.
If I have no luck this week I'll just have to return it and try to get my
money back. A pity because I've been looking for one of these emulators for
some time now. I was hoping to get a 486 like yours.
