#Mouse Pad
17 messages in this thread
Thomas,
I've been in the hospital all week with an infected foot. Just got home
yesterday. But, my wife told me that my mouse pad arrived a few days ago.
She said the package had been re-wrapped by the post office because it was
falling apart.
However, there were 6 disks inside of version 3.1, some documentation and the
"MOUSE PAD".
So, now all I need is the Amiga $100 rebate.
Fred
Fred,
Sorry to hear about your foot problems. Hospitals are a good place to
stay away from!
Delighted to hear that you have received Toaster 3.1 and I hope one day
you get the $100 rebate from C=. I have not yet received Toaster 3.1, but
it's nice to know they are being sent out and I'll watch the mail closely
for mine. NewTek did finally call me about a week ago. They had spilled
something on my registration card and could not read the registration
number. I corrected that problem for them, so hopefully I'll see Toaster
3.1 in the near future.
Tom
Tom,
Newtek must have had a big spill. That was the same thing they called me about,
about two months ago.
I was in the office yesterday and installed 3.1. I haven't had a chance to look
at all of the changes, but the program will save a framestore in about 15
seconds, allow you to have type in two different colors (top one color, bottom
another color) and I noticed a few new switching effects.
There are even new pages for the Tutorials.
Fred
Fred,
Thanks for the info. Yes, I received two versions of Toaster 3.1
yesterday in good condition. One version is for my A2000 and the other
for the A4000. All I have had a chance to do so far has been to check out
the new effects. They are neat. I am also pleased to see that NewTek
restored some of the 2.0 effects that were quite spectacular such as the
SpinExplode …one of my favorites for wowing visitors who have never seen
an Amiga or a Toaster. I plan to work through the tutorials again.
Perhaps this time the instructions will actually work and make sense. I
was really glad to see an index for the manual. All in all a very nice
upgrade from NewTek –at the most reasonable possible price :).
Hope you can collect the $100 rebate from Commodore.
Tom
Tom,
I got my $100 from C= yesterday!
Jerry
How did you get your $100, did you threaten Commodore. Ha!
Where did you purchase your 4000 VT,to get the rebate?
I received a call from Commodore in Dec stating that the rebate was on its
way. I am still waiting though.
(watch it come with 3.1 and the mousepad all next week.)

Patrick,
No, I hadn't even called C=. I'd planned to do it, but never did; it just
showed up. I bought the upgrade package directly from Newtek, and the Amiga
4000 from a dealer in Memphis…
Jerry
You may want to call your 4000/040 vendor.
C= sent my $100 to TENEX in Mid-November. I've been trying to chase it
down ever since – gotta call them today as a matter of fact.

First off, What a GREAT looking Flomder guitar. You must have spent
quite a bit of time modeling it. Secondly, if the $100 rebate was
given to the 4000 vendor, are they obliged to pass it on to us. What
if they simply say that they had reduced the 4000 Toaster sold to me
by that $100 amount? I wonder if anyone else were told this from
their vendor that sold them their 4000 Toaster? -40 below (with wind
chill factor) and 17" on the groung. Two records broken in two days.
Thanks for the compliments on the Flomder guitar – I can't take full
credit for it, the original template came from an Imagine object. I
will call it mine though – I think it's 1000 times better than the
original. :^)
I finally got he $100 rebate thing figured out. When I last talked to
the Tenex sales geek, he told me they got the money from C=, and they
had sent me a check on 12-22-93.
In following it up this week, it appears that I was instead _credited_
for $100 (it was originally a credit card order), and the credit
should appear in this months billing statement (which is, of course,
about 5 days away.)
As for holding the vendor to the $100 rebate, there is a line in the
rebate offer that specifically prohibits the dealer from getting the
rebate – it's for end user's only. (So, if they hassle you, then shove
the fine print up their nose. :^)
P.S. My condolences on the weather! (Guess we'll be seeing alot of you
on CI$ in the next day or 2, eh? :^)
I'll call SoftWare Hut tomorrow about the $100 rebate…
Have you gotten 3.1 and the pad yet? We haven't had any mail for 4
days now. Nor has the garbage been picked up for a week. Nor have
the main streets been plowed, (four days now.) There I go sounds
like I have cabin fever. Aggggggh.
Good luck on the rebate.
I haven't gotten 3.1 yet, but NewTek tech support called to say that
they're going out in batches weekly, and that they should have them
all out by the end of the month. (They must be going in reverse
order, as I ordered my T4000 double upgrade the first day they were
taking orders…..:^)
Well, at least I hear the East coast is beginning to warm up at last.
Maybe you'll have a chance to catch-up on all that lost work now. :^)
Fred,
Be glad your 3.1 disks were still inside your battered package; mine were not.
It would appear that Newtek chose the wrong packaging to withstand 4th Class
mail…
Jerry
Fred,
Take care of that infected foot. What's the name of your anitbiotic?
Like you I am still waiting on the $100 rebate. Maybe we should call
Commodore again next week.
Haven't received 3.1, nor the "Post Office Repackaged" Mousepad ( 8*) )
yet.
Six disks eh?? Hmmmmmm…

Patrick,
The doctor started me on Kephlex (sp?) and then at the beginning of this week
added CIPRO. I'm taking about 3500 miligrams a day between the two. It is
improving, but very slooowly.
I was at the office for one day and had a chance to load in 3.1. I only got a
few minutes to check out the changes, but one of the things that I noticed is
when you enter CG and set up a page, then leave CG and reenter, you go directly
to the page you left.
The way it worked before is that you always started with page 0. That feature
is a nice time saver.
The documentation list a number of changes, but I don't remember them all.
Since I can't do anything, I've been spending the last few days watching the
Stranahan tapes that I bought. I figure if I just absorb the information now, I
can work with them at the Toaster next week.
Fred
I asked about your meds since I have a strong interest there,
(pharmaceutical sales rep for 12 years.)
Keflex is a good drug, Cipro may help you that much more, since Cipro is
one of the newer antibiotics with a wide spectrum of coverage. Take your
meds as directed and you'll be better soon.
3.1 sounds interesting, havn't received it yet nor the mousepad, (nor the
$100 rebate from Commodore for that matter.)
I reviewed LightWave Essentials again tonight. Funny how you can learn
off these tapes again, again and again. I understand Modeler for 3.0 will
be out the first quarter. Modeler is my biggest weakness. But I will
conquer it.
Expecting 6 inches of snow by Mon morn.

I wondered why you asked about the medication. Thought you might be a doctor or
something.
Yep, both are good stuff. My wife is a retired RN and tells me all about any
medication I ever take. The doctor felt that I needed a wide spectrum
antibiotic since the Keflex wasn't working in the oral dosages. And I was NOT
going back into the hospital.
Take care.
