Are you sure you are getting the right exchange rates?
The european version of The Wall Street Journal has numbers which are nowhere
near what you are talking about in US dollars.
Can you give your price in US currency, and we might get something going?

It's a joke… US and Canadian dollars are fairly the same value, so 6500 is
about 5700 or so. The joke implies Canadian money is worthless as it seems to
be when you get it passed back as change, but then can't spend it anywhere.
It's sort of a Canadian joke. Trust that they joke about Americans as well…
I live on the border and spend time in both countries.

Wish it were so, but the Canadian dollar has been hanging below US$0.75 for a
while now. (You should be able to get a more precise current rate from your
bank or financial source).

Back when we published The First Book of KIM in 1976, the Canadian dollar was
worth MORE than the US dollar. Those days are gone, long gone. Six months
ago, our dollar was getting close to $0.70, but it's back up now. Meanwhile,
all the government pundits were hollering how "good for trade" it was to have a
low dollar. They sounded as if they would be tickled pink if the value of our
money went down to zero. (Hear any of this when the US dollar sank against
international currencies a short while back?)

Sorry I started all of this about the Canadian dollar with the flip comment
about $6500 being $375 U.S. Hate to make anyone sad! And what's sad is how
low the U.S. dollar is making it even worse for your money!
I had about $10,000 in Canadian when the slide began, put it in Savings,
knowing that it would recover, but had second thoughts and took a .04 per
dollar loss.
Last luck that I had.

According to the raging debate concerning the value of the Canadian dollar it
would be about $5000.00 American. My suggestion would be to call your bank and
ask them what it would cost in $US to take out a money order for $6500
Canadian. Banks generally give the best exchange and depending on the type of
account you have, may not even charge a service fee.
