I bought a Primera-Pro Printer about 6 months ago. Unfortunatly, I can not get
the quallity of dye-sublimation. I am printing directly
from DPaintIV, and from ADPro. I read and make the correct configu-
ration for the printer. If any of you guys have this printer and
print your 24-bits images with photo-realistic quallity?
I hope someone can help me.

The problem that you may be having is that even though you are printing a 24
bit image the resolution of it is quite low about 75 dpi on a standard Amiga,
where as the Primera-Pro will print at 600*300 dpi. I have seen the same thing
on a PC. I don't know how you could get around this problem as I don't have
that printer or use that software much. You could try scaling your image to
about 1/4 of its size when printing.

I am pretty sure that the "Dye sublimation" quality on the Primera-Pro printer
was only available when you bought an extra "kit" for the printer. I think this
included a different "ribbon" for the color printing at this quality. The adds'
in the magazines always had an extra kit to buy…..

You definatly need the extra bits to print Dye sub, you can only print with the
wax if you don't.

Can anyone out there give a review of the wax-transfer quality? Im thinking of
buying a primera.

I have only seen wax-transfer a few times but from what I remember it is about
the same a ink jet. The primera will also do dye sub prints which are about as
good as it gets, the only down side here is they cost a few dollars a print.

My primera without the dye sub mode prints much better than my Cannon BJC 600
and so far is much more durable. I make all of my prints with the Primera
driver in printer prefs and use Brillance 2.0.
The main thing about the primera is you must have very good quality paper.
For Tshirt Iron ons it's great.
First Dpaint does a horrible job at painting screens. I'm not sure about adpro
as I do not have it.
Primera has a new driver version 4.1 for the amiga that does a really nice
job. You need to get the dye sub kit for dye sub prints (another 200 dollars)
Other than that try printing with Brillance,ImageFX or even the old diskmaster
with the primera driver. I prefer Brillance presently as it's easier to use.
