#MCI drivers
7 messages in this thread
Hi All,
I've downloaded the MCI driver MCIAAP.ZIP from this forum and have it
happily working inside a Delphi program, but wondered if anyone could tell me
how to:
a) Get rid of the file name or get into full screen mode.
b) Set the FLC replay speed other than adjust it in Animator Pro.
Any comments, barring rude ones would be greatly appreciated.

<<a) Get rid of the file name or get into full screen mode.>>
MCI control does not give you any control over the file name on the banner.
However you can go into Fullscreen mode by having your delphi program call a
script file instead of an FLC file. The script can have preset settings for
fullscreen mode during playback of the animation.
<<b) Set the FLC replay speed other than adjust it in Animator Pro.>>
Calling a script file will also allow you to preset the speed of the FLC in the
Script file settings.

Brian,
Many thanks, your quite right, and I feel a bit of a fool now for
asking in the first place. It never ceases to amaze me how helpful and willing
everybody is on Compuserve, once many thanks.

I certaintly hope not! This is the place to ask questions. That's why we are
here! Please ask away….

Ok,

Not too sheepish now that I've slept, but it worked a dream, and I and
everybody else are happy,

I'm assuming you mean the AAAnim MCI device does not support this–I've been
trying to use some MCI commands on it which simply are ignored. Specifically,
I'm trying to redirect the animation output from a .FLC file into a specified
HWND, which can be done with AVIVideo using the "window [device] handle [hwnd]"
command. Does AAAnim not support this, or is there a different driver I can
use? If not, is there ANY way for a custom program (written probably with
Visual Basic) to control how and where a .FLC runs?
BTW the caption on a banner CAN be changed using the "window [device] text
"caption"" command.
Edward,
Yes, there is a limited number of MCI commands which are supported by our MCI
driver. This list is included with the MCI driver when you download the
MCIAAP.ZIP file from the libraries.

I am not aware of a way to do this using the drivers. You could probably do it
if you were to make program calls to the .DLL directly.
P.S. Do you know about the ASL?
<<What you need is the Animation Support Libraries, without a doubt! This
developers kit includes C and Visual Basic Programmers reference manuals for
the Windows Player, Fliclib and File Format manuals, Code examples and other
support files, POCO and POE reference manuals, and more. You can order this kit
directly from Autodesk by calling 800-964-6432. The kit costs about $25.
