Displaying faces
6 messages in this thread
I'm new to 3ds and am going thru the tutorial. On page 8-16 under displaying
faces the tutorial says that when I click on the vertex of the cube after
selecting modify/face/delete, the faces that share the selected vertex is
displayed in blue while moving the mouse. I have followed this tutorial word
for word and once I click on the vertex of the cube and move the mouse I do not
see a blue outline as the illustration shows. Any hints or ideas?
Thanks

You must configure your 3D Editor to run with 256 colors. More colors than
that will not display face highlights.
Sorry!
Nik,
There ya go! I'm running 65,000 colors. Thanks for the help.

Ahah! Thanks for letting us know. (You're welcome)
Nik,
I do have to switch back to 65,000 colors to run Kai's power tools though.
3ds….what a great product. I'm really anxious to get through the tutorials
and reference manuals and get "up and running".
Thanks

Doug, It actually depends on the video card you're using. This only happens on
certain cards and/or certain Vibrant drivers. On some cards running in true or
high color is just fine on other it isn't. Unfortunately yours is one where it
isn't. Not a huge deal but a pain nonetheless.
