#AVI audio to WAV format

I just know there is someone out the with an answer for me on this one.
I want to strip out the audio of an AVI file and save it to the WAV format. I
thought Premiere could do this, but I'm wrong or confused. Any utils out there
to do this operation. Shareware or Commercial I don't care.

Autodesk's Animator Studio to the rescue. Soundlab does this beautifully.
Multiple soundtracks saved in AVIs can be saved as separate wav files, the
compression scheme can be changed for each, and the combined soundtracks
included in a single file (channels) can be individually renamed or deleted.

How is AniStudio? I have stayed away until it's out for a while longer. I've
seen many messages on numerous bugs and choppy behaviour. SSounds like the
features are quite good.
By the way, I did find a way to get Premiere to do the WAV thing, but it takes
several steps:
1> Load AVI files into premiere and set up a project.
2> Set all the Audio FADES in premiere audio tracks.
3> MAKE AVI movie with proper audio specs and set VIDEO = NONE. This
creates an audio
only AVI file.
4> OPEN new audio only AVI and choose EXPORT in FILE menu. There is an
option for EXPORT
WAV. Set audio specs and save new file.
Wheeeew….
It works but it's a lot of work.

it did have some problems in its c0 version… it depended what some where
doing with the product (and their own system's resources and configurations).
the program's feature list though is impressive.

i'm scribbling all this down for futre reference. thanks for sharing this,

Razor Pro will do the job. It allows you to split the audio and from there you
can save it as a project with the wave file.

Which version of Razor are you using? How does it compare to Premiere in
features. Have concidered it for a while but I already have Premiere and the
DEMO at NAB I saw had the program crashing like crazy. I felt sorry for the guy
running the demo as people walked out in droves.

The current version of Razor Pro is 2.0 and this is the Windows 3.1 version, I
think the version you were watching at NAB was 1.0c and there has been many
improvements since then (i.e. different Effects added, hot keys added to there
command list, rendering speed improvement and stability). The program has one
major feature over all other NLE's and that is the capability to thumbnail from
the PAR. Another major feature with the PVR and Speed Razor Mach III is that
they work with the DPS Play List feature, making for very fast edits by
rendering only the frames which have an edit applied to them.
