#Diga!
6 messages in this thread
I've just picked up a copy of Diga! via C= usersgroup offer.
While I like the program, I'm somewhat unhappy with it's VT100
emulation mode(no top row function key support..read GOLD key)
I noticed in Computer Shopper that these keys ARE supported but
the feature is not documented. What's the scoop? Is there really
"gold" at the end of the rainbow?

They are there — call Ageis and bug em for the method as part of your support.
While you do that, ask em when they are going to release a version minus the
bugs… ask them to put things like how the terminal emulations (supplied) work
right in the manual, so you wouldn't need to ask here at $12.00/hour! –Ben–
The file emulate.arc contains all docs and several examples of Diga!
emulations. It wasen't finished (the docs on emulations) when Diga! shipped.
The new version is in testing …. biggest problem is adding the requested
features and improving operation on 512K Amiga.
Roger,
I've heard that the programmable function keys are supported in the Diga!
VT100 emulation using some of the keys in the keypad. The latest Amazing
Computing has a review that discusses this.
I've found a different problem with the Diga! VT100 emulation. If I load
the program from a CLI and load a configuration using VT100 from within the
program, the program simply locks up. It refuses to respond to any keyboard
input or menu selections. I can't even quit the program without a reboot. Same
thing seems to happen when I invoke a configuration by using the phonebook.
The only way I consistently avoid these problems is by loading from the
Workbench by opening a config icon.
Have you noticed anything similar? If so, have you found any better way
to avoid the problem? Sorry to bend your ear on this. Hope you can get the
function keys to work for you.
