Charlie – oh, well, thanks! <grin> Unfortunately, I'm still haveing some random crashes of the system, though not as many as before. Any ideas on things I might need to check/replace/do?? I've lost the first two attempts at this reply to crashes, before that it hadn't misbehaved in over an hour. Doesn't seem to be any pattern to them, either… AArgh! @ Anne

Anne, did the tech ground the pal chips? Have you run memory test on the ram card? have you tried a new kickstart disk? what are the causes of crashes? (like everytime I boot scribble, WP or something like that? Charlie Fair C Ltd.

Yes, I believe the pal chips were grounded. Memory test? No, haven't tried new kickstart disk, since with this one I get _no_ crashes if only the starboard is attached. Crashes occur randomly, usually when there is NO disk access occurring, almost everything I've tried runs most of the time, all of them have suddenly lost it for no apparent reason. It happens anywhere from every 10 minutes or so to over an hour between events. I'm going to have it looked at again this weekend, meanwhile I'm back to floppies <sigh> @ Anne
