Just for grins I tried digitizing a VCR still frame using the usual Panasonic BW camera pointed at an Amdek color 300 monitor attached to the VCR. It didn't turn out too bad compared to the original VCR freeze frame. My VCR does not have the digital freeze, so I didn't expect much. I wonder if we could start a campaign to get vcr designers to attach a serial output to those digital freeze frames. <wishful thinking, eh?>

Jim, Wishful thinking, yeah. Perhaps, with these new Digital decks – they should enc rporate such an output connection. Actually, I would imaging it would be fairly simple to hook up such an output to a Digital deck – mainly due to the fact that it uses RAM to store it's image. Perhaps one of these days. Revox makes a CD player with an RS-232 output port on it's end to interface with a computer. Interesting eh?
