WHats the story with Interfont? When i was at Ami Expo in chicago I was
told that it would be about 2 weeks. I called Syndesis about 5 times last
month only to be greeted by a answering machine and no returned calls!
Will it ever be available? If so, since i gave my name and number at the
show ( So that i get the free module & Interfont, Interchance at the SHOW
price) ,will i be called when its available?
InterFont is not shipping yet. We sent out the hopefully final betas this
week, and hope to have it out by the end of the month. When you were at
AmiEXPO, you were told that it would be at least a month. No one was
saying two weeks. Even with that month date, we've slipped. I didn't hear
anything about five calls to Syndesis. Did you leave a number? There is a
human there most of the time. I call that number quite often, and rarely
speak to the machine. The reason you gave your address was so we could
send you a flyer when it's ready. That's what we told you at AmiEXPO.
Trust me, I would be much happier than you if InterFont was out now. I've
put eight months into it, and you've got the show special price, plus a
free module.
One other thing that's been very disturbing. I don't know if it relates to
your phone calls. We get a lot of calls at Syndesis. My partner is
female. Most of the callers are male. Many of the callers assume she
doesn't/couldn't know what she is talking about. (She writes the C code
for the user interfaces of all out products.) And these callers insist
that they talk to someone else…. someone male.
Thanks for the reply. However, I "WAS" told around two weeks at AmiExpo. And
when I called 5 times, it was during the month of Aug. and a machine did answer
the phone. And yes, I left my name & number (& Time/Date) as requested.
The only reason I wanted to know whats going on, is I wanted to be sure that
it wasnt going to be another Vapor Ware like Micro Illusion's Music X (After
seeing those ad's month after month in Amiga World).
Anyway, I am looking foward to Interfont when it does come out, I just wish I
had it now since It will save me a lot of time.

Trust me, there were only two people working in the booth in Chicago. One of
them was me. No one said "two weeks." And when I wrote down your name as a
person interested in InterFont, I told you that we'd send a flyer when it was
ready. If you call every week, that's fifteen minutes we can't work on
InterFont. According to our my partner who handles the phone calls, we did
call you back. We left a lengthy message with a woman who said you weren't
home. You haven't called since, so we assumed you got the message. You're
right, you caught us. We would rather spend thousands of dollars on AmigaWorld
ads, instead of having a product ready to ship. As well as a flyer, I'll upload
plenty of promotional material here on Compuserve, too.

No, there are lots of people who don't trust me, I guess, because I can
tell them things, and they don't believe me. If I lie, my nose grows. If
I even think about lying, I can't sleep at night. Trust no one. The
computer is your friend. 🙂
You trust COMPUTERS??? Whoa. I don't know about that. Risky.
Trust computers? have you ever seen one make a mistake? Only programs make
mistakes. The hardware is 99.99999 percent pure. (Actually, the "computer
is your friend" quote comes from one of the few role-playing games I've
ever tried, called Paranoia. It's wild.)
I checked with my wife, and she did take that call (And forgot to tell me.)
However, I wish I had a mini-recorder with me at Chicago, cause The women
at the booth told me something like 'We are still waiting for the manuals
to be printed, we will get back to you when its ready to ship. This should
be approx. 2 weeks or so.' 4 people were with me when this was said! This
is stupid anyway.. Why argue about it cause it's not going to make things
happen faster anyway! I will be waiting for the flyer, and order it as soon
as I get that flyer.
