You're lucky if 'power outs of less than a second' are all you ever see. When
our substation 265 kV reclosure opens, it delays two seconds before the first
autoreclose, usually bounces once and takes on the second try (4-5 seconds
later). Besides which, on the other side of the wall, about ten feet away,
sits a 1200 hp full regenative DC drive. That hummer brightens the lights 20
miles away and creates ALOT of noise in the 120 hz to 3 Mhz range. Now you
know why I bought a UPS from APC. The filter seems to work real well, along
with no more untimely outages. Not a burp from my Amiy since.
