It's rather unfortunate that they used the term virus, when what he really did
was plant a 'bomb', but all in all, I am very happy to see a successful
prosecution of a case of sabotage.

I think the general opinion here is that if this man could be convicted, so
could other virus-planters (using the term loosely). The fact that ANYone was
convicted of tampering with computer software was something of a landmark. It
can now move to the areas most of us would consider virii.
