I thought I'd complement you guys on the A1230+ Series II and A1291 SCSI
kit I installed in my A1200. I just finished installing a Quantum 240meg
lps Prodrive and your software and harddware worked like a charm. My last
experience with a SCSI drive was with my Xetec system on my A500 and it
seemed that it always took hours to get that thing running right, yours
took a matter of minutes once I installed the drive. The only annoying
thing is that there wasn't any documentation on FastPred or ExpertPrep
included with the package, but both utilities were fairly self
expalnitory.
On another note, there does seem to be a problem with the GVPCpuCtrl
utility that can with the A1230 series II board. For some reason it will
not place the kickstart image in 32 bit ram if it is placed after
"Binddrivers" in the startup-sequence, the manual recommends putting it in
the user-startup file, but this doesn't work (at least on my system). In
addition, the application icon for doing the same thing by placing the
icon in the WBStartup drawer will not work either. I have mentioned this
to someone at GVP on the phone the other day. Curiously, the A1230+ I
previously had (series I) and GVPCpuCtrl utility didn't have this problem,
it worked fine in my User-Startup file.
All IN All, I'm a very happy customer.

What, no manual? I'll check into Production, but you should have received a
separate FastPrep manual that covers both programs in detail.

Hmm, I'll pass this on to Technical Support and Engineering and see what
happens.

Gary,
Maybe the Fastprep/ExpertPrep manual just missed getting into my box, I'd
hate to tell you some of the complaints customers get from the company I
work for regarding packaging, it makes my situation seem very very
trivial.
BTW, how do I go about getting a copy of the FastPrep/ExpertPrep manual.
I sent my registration in the other day and made a note on it about the
missing manual as well.

We should address it then… May I strongly suggest that you send a specific
piece of mail or fax stating what the case is and that you'd like to receive
these?
Thanx.
Gill
I called Customer service today and left a message that I hadn't recieved
the fastprep manual along with my registration number, address and phone
number, hopefully they will send it out.
