Hey, a friend is having a problem with TS 3.0 and SV re the Commodore 2091 hard drive controller card. I seem to recall this being an issue some time ago, and that there was a simple patch available? Anyone fill me in again? What patch? Where is it? Any help appreciated… –jp–

I don't know about Turbo Silver in particular, but I have been told that the 2091 card cannot save overscan files when an overscan picture is being *displayed*. Whenever I try, the system freezes and crashes. I was also told the solution is to go to a non-overscan screen and then save the file, but that seems near impossible for some programs. As for a patch, I certainly would like to hear of one. -SJK

Steven, Had not realized the overscan problem… will check that one out… the problem I mean is just the program crashing completely as soon as it gets started. I did find a patch program, however, called `BANGZERO' in the Amigatech lib, that fixes the problem. Works like a charm. (I gather that Silver somehow looks at the loc -0-, and if anything is there — boom/crash — apparently the 2091 writes there on occasion… oh well… sounds like a bug in each program. It's fixed now, though… –jp–

Well, i'm glad someone else noticed the problem. Anyhow, i wrote about that a few months ago. my dealer gave me a program, 590fix, which works on the 2091 (which i have). your right about writing on the loc 0, and the problem is in the 590 also, since it's basically a 2091… Adam.

Am glad it worked out for you. So Silver is up and running? (Question: as it was a hard drive controller problem (right?) did it affect any other programs? Just curious, because all I ever heard was a problem with Silver? –jp–

Nah, I have not had any problems (don't use that controller), but was curious because I run into people who have similar problems at times. Just wanted more info on yours. Good luck. –jp–
