My college has an Amiga hooked to a "Unisys" laser printer that des
–oops–does HP LaserJet Plus emulation. (I think it is really an Okidata;
and tha manual is dated 1987.) I think we have about a meg and a half of
ram: in the printer. (Hard to tell–we weren't given much documentation.)
This works fine from Word Perfect and ProPage except when we get to a
bitmap. It will print about half an inch of the bitmap then eject a page,
do the next, etc. Is this what a laserjet does if it is out of memory? Is
there some way to make it act more like a dot matrix printer? (The same
page prints fine on my DeskJet at home.)
A meg and a half should be enough to do a bitmap to a LJ. I ran bitmapped
images on my LJII with 512k, and it will output at LJ+ resolution(150dpi).
