#Pools of Radience

Champions was the first SSI RPG written with the design making it easy to
port to various machines, which is why it showed up on the Amiga as quickly
as it did. Pools, on the other hand, was not. So it needed/needs to be
rewritten completely for the Amiga. Which is why it's taking so much
longer for it to be released. (At least, this is the story I've heard and
pieced together.)
As for the release date of Pool, I've been hearing "sometime in Fall"
since early this year. This is further corroborated by the catalog update
included in Champions, which said it was to be released by the end of 1990.
I'm inclined to believe this date. Ignore what the people on the order
line tell you: THEY DON'T KNOW. They probably don't even have a ballpark
figure. And despite what the tech staff person told you, I'd guess it will
be sometime in November it will be released.

Later this Fall, was a bad guess, I just received my copy from
SSI/Electronic Arts. I had caled the tech line and was tod that they had
solved thier problems and I said "Yeah, when Chryl Tiggs gets a job as a
Fat Lady!" Today at 1700 HST the UPS man dropped off a copy of Pools at my
door.
I guess Ringing Bros. are going to cean up with Chryl as their Fat
Lady.

I'm impressed. A company which actually ships a game product before the
announced date! (Unfortunately, this means I will now have yet another RPG
to play… I was hoping to have a break after I finish Might & Magic II
sometime in the future… <grin>)
