Jim After living with ProWrite 3.1 for a few weeks ( I really like it a lot! ), I have put together the following wish list for ProWrite and ProScript: * Full implementation of ProWrite features in ProScript * Full control of ProScript settings from within ProWrite * Ability to write a disk file from ProScript using the document name from ProWrite * Improved or adjustable kerning for ProScript documents * Improved macro language/ARexx support – specifically: * Ability to set and get ruler characteristics – this would allow the creation of a new ruler with settings relative to the current ruler – Also, ability to determine the overall document settings would be useful. * Ability to determine full path of an open document * Ability to directly determine if a document is open (full path names) * Ability to determine which character is at insertion point * Ability to move insertion point to beginning/end of paragraph (current, prior, next) * Ability to change a font by specifying new font name and size * Increase number of keys to which macros may be assigned * Display macro names on menu * User ability to remap keyboard * Deactivate text selection after Search/Replace * Ability to read current print settings I think that with the additional macro/ARexx support, significant formatting functions could be implemented directly by users. At minimum, the steps in ProWrite required to format this document, for instance, could be greatly reduced. Please consider these suggestions for future upgrades. Thanx Bob

Bob, Thanks for the suggestions, many of them are already on the list. It is possible to determine the character at the insertion point with ProWrite 3.1. Just do a CtrlDown, CursorLeft (or CursorRight), CtrlUp, and Extract. This will get the character to the left (or right) of the insertion point. James Bayless New Horizons Software, Inc.

I'll give that a try. I suspect it would work faster if a function was provided within ProWrite. The intent here is to parse the document and find items like carriage returns, temporary user-imbedded flags, etc. – so sp preserve formatting (the ruler line). Please add a formatted ASCII save feature to the wish list. It also would be nice to have access to a Bob

I have one wish, and that is adequate handling of Elite and Condensed printer fonts. It seems so basic. ProWrite (which I very much want to like) is not very useful to me without it.
