#Amiga Amateur Radio
9 messages in this thread
When asked to enter a section for posting a message, I saw a section titled
"Amiga Amateur Radio". Is this a future section ? I use my Amiga for
amateur radio and such a section wud be welcomed. Tnx, Steve VE3SDJ
Steve,
That is a current section. However, if it does go unused it will be
changed to something more topical. You might consider the Amiga Amateur
Radio section as a social experiment.
For us social problems, eh? <grin>

Steve, I suggest that you put some messages in that section. We have lots
of people here interested in amateur radio, but the section is new and no
one has started using it yet.

Has this section been mentioned in HAMNET yet? I like it, hope we get some
good posts. David D.
David, since I never have visited HAMNET, I wouldn't know if it has been
mentioned there. I suspect that it will be quite popular, though, once the
Amiga HAM folk learn about it. There are lots of them out there.

Betty;
It has been mentioned on HamNet.

Steve,
The sysops are giving the old "use it or loose it" line – sound familiar
<GRIN>?
So, you do any SSTV with your Ami? I run the AVT system here, and can
occasionally be heard on 14.233 (do more listening than talking).
I was working on a satellite tracking program (it used to be MapTrak on the
C64), have it working under AmigaBasic with the sprites representing the
satellites, but when I started moving it over to C, I fell down when it
came to trying to understand VSprites.. I can't remember how slow the
program was on the C64, but on my 2620 equiped A2000, the C kernal can
update 40 satellite positions/second!!! Anybody know of any beams that can
turn at 3600 RPM???

Long time no type. 'been in Tenn. for abt a month. Really enjoyed the ham
over in that part of the country. Went to breakfast with 'em every Sat
morning.
Still don't have the ground rod driven or the 20 mtr ant. up but hope to
RSN. Did pick up a new set of finals for the Dentron Linear so should be
able to work AVT when the other stuff is done.
