#3000+bboard=success!
5 messages in this thread
This is in regard to a note I posted earlier about problems that I was
having with my 286 bridgeboard and Amiga 3000. Well, all seems to be well
now. After reinstalling my bridgeboard and playing with the placement of
the Binddrivers command there is no problem.
The binddrivers just needs to be the first line when booting up under 2.0
while under 1.3 it doesn't matter. Should have thought of this fix a lot
earlier.

Strange…..I use the Xt Bridge in an A2000 (running v1.3) and had to have
the binddrivers command FIRST every time or it would hang. Same problem
with v1.2 of the OS, but don't have v2.0 (waiting patiently!) yet.

My system, using a 680×0 accelerator and the A2286, had to have Binddrivers
nearly the _last_ or it would hang. Bridgeboards have lots of personality.
I use 1.2 Kickstart and the Bridge works fine no matter where I place
Binddrivers. It's currently my or fourth executed command after SetPatch,
Echo, and FastmemFirst. Then later on DJMount. Eventually after the Janus
drive comes on line, I click on and icon to do the reassigns.
Interesting…..If I don't have BINDDRIVERS as command #1 and DJMOUNT FFS
as command #2 in my startup-sequence, my Bridge card hangs and the Janus
drive is useless.
One other thing…when using the install program with Janus (to make the
original copy) I MUST use one drive only- it refuses to work on a second
drive! It is strange- as it is just copying files, but everytime I tried
the install prg using two disk drive (to speed things up) it refuse to
boot. Using a single-drive install worked fine, though. Fortunatly this
only has to be done once (twice, considering I originally installed Janus 1
then later on Janus 2)- not counting my fiddling.
Board works great now, as has it always. I'm gonna sell it now that I no
longer need IBM compatibility (school requirement for a time).
