Ethan, You might be right. The problem is that although the computer certainly wasn't a gift, I don't want to seem ungrateful to the company that got it for me. Their hearts were in the right place and they are very nice people and we get along very well. If they knew what they were getting and purchased it because it was cheaper, that's fine. But they didn't indicate that to me. You see they owed me X amount of dollars and it doesn't matter if they got the computer for free, I'm crediting them with its value to me. I know they got a developer's discount and the reason we structured my compensation deal this way was so they could get more of my services for less money. If they had to pay full price, they could have paid me the money directly and I could have purchased the computer myself. This way, I got the computer and they saved some money. The company feels I should be elated over this new system and they seem perturbed that I'm questioning it. My position is that if they gave me an A1000 with the same capabilities, it would be better than my current A500, but I still wouldn't want it. I feel that rather than surprise me, the company should have verified if I wanted that exact configuration before they purchased it for me. If what I wanted cost more than what they owed me, I would have rather waited until they owed me more, since I'm still doing work for them, and then get the exact system I wanted. In any event, I'm sure it will be worked out shortly. Dom Fontana
