#Whap re-registration

I'm having problems updating from 19A to 19C. The copy of the update program supplied in the archive with 19c prints a message that it is for updating from 19A to 19B when it is run and then claims I don't have a registered copy of whap. I was going to get the update to 19B, but when I was looking for it you said not to bother since you were uploading 19C soon and I assumed I could skip past 19B. One other problem, what happens with the registration email if it's grabbed by a program other than whap? Most of the time I use the account from work via TapCIS on an IncrediblyBadMachine. Is there a way to get the new copy registered if the email gets grabbed by TapCIS? Maybe send the binary email back to myself? Peter_S (LeCroy Corp) "Software is never having to say you're finished"

Peter, While Jim forgot the change the text within the UPDATE program (ie, saying it was for A to B), the program does work for B to C. If it doesn't work for you, follow the instructions in the README.FIRST file and send the email. If you grab the email with another program (and delete it) you're SOL. Send an email requesting another one. -sja

Steve, for those of us still on 1.3 is there any need to dl c, or any harm fron not doing it? Or in other words, will the next version allow UPDATE from either b or c? Thanks, Ron

Ron, You don't need 1.9C but, no, the next update will only go from C to D.

Thanks for the info; I suppose that I ought to dl c then. Ron

Since we need C to go to D, can you give us an idea when D will be coming out – so we all won't have to re-register? <Dave>

David, No idea, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Steve, Guess I'll have to leave my Mail turned off in TapCIS for a couple days until I see the email show up, oh well. Peter_S (LeCroy Corp) "Software is never having to say you're finished"
