#Games that Multi-Task??
5 messages in this thread
Here's an interesting question. What are the best games for the Amiga that
(And this is a biggie since I'm a sysop!!!) MULTI-TASK!!!!
???????!!!!!!!!!!???????? I'll probably get Blockout because it looks
better than Tetris and it Multi-Tasks!!!! Also, I only have 1 meg, so I
know (or think atleast) that Champions of Krynn multi tasks any other
smaller ones. Leaving me 180k isn't quite enough!! Thanx alot!!!!! P.S. I
have a partial list so far if anyone one is interested!
Desi,
I really like STORM ACROSS EUROPE, from SSI. It's not so hot on graphics or
sound, but it's a great game to have in the background while you're doing
other things, and is a really compelling grand strategy WWII game. You can
"iconify" the game so that it's just represented by a little bar in the
upper left corner of the screen (and I believe returns lots of CHIP RAM
back to you), and then click on that to start up again. SSI has
subsequently come out with OVERRUN! and SECOND FRONT for the Amiga, both
extensive, richly complex wargames, but neither has any of the Amiga grace
that STORM ACROSS EUROPE has — they musta lost their best Amiga converter
or something. <sigh>

Empire multitasks very nicely. I believe Ports of Call, Pirates (need lots
of RAM) and Gunship will as well.
Desi:
Please post list of multi-tasking games, and add to it as you discover
more. Many of us don't like to tie up our machines on a game, we like to
play while the Amiga is busy doing other work in the background.

Empire multi-tasks <sigh>, means I can't really use it, cuz I get involved
in the game while the compile is running, then sorta forget to get back to
work when it's done <grin>……My son likes the game (he doesn't do a lot
of WORK on the machine tho).
