Well, with luck all of you who expressed an interest in a Silver/Imagine User group here on CIS have received an EMail by now…. If I missed someone by accident, I apologize; please let me know. I think an October CO would be a good idea to get things moving quickly. I'd rather see us get going, rather than spending a lot of time deciding on how to get going. As mentioned in the EMail, anyone with particular ideas/etc to share on how to make this better for all PLEASE SPEAK UP. I'm going on the road on Monday, 9-24 and won't be back at my pool old Amiga for @ one month or so; I'll try to check in several times a week from whereever I am…. Let's get talking…. now, what the heck is the difference between a WRAP X and a FLAT X again? <smile> –jp–

I'm interested in the Silver/Imagine group. Please forward me any info concerning the matter. I am not currently an Imagine owner, but planning to buy it shortly. Joe

John: I'd very much like to be able to dl Silver objects and files to use as "tutorials", as well as have a Silver group to ask questions of. Don't do much co-ing though. Would I still be able to "play"? 🙂 ?|^] Ray Lewis

Sure you could 'play' Ray! The more the merrier! I'd hope/expect to generate a transcript/summary of any CO's for uploading here, along with any specific data files mentioned in the CO. That might serve nicely as a sort of 'newsletter'? –jp–

John, I'm a bit late coming into this thread, but please add me to the list of those interested in a TS/Imagine user group. Given the TS docs, I'm expecting the Imagine learning curve to be rather steep, and I'll need all the help I can get! 😉 — CJC —

Well, you left messages in EasyPlex, and said we should reply here. So, here goes: My problem is that, as much as I LOVE Turbo Silver, the docs are abysmal (sp?). So, I have fooled around a bit, and put it aside in frustration. In addition, the version I have (3.0 purchased at the Amiga users' convocation here in New York two years ago [NOT WOA, which was this year]), even with BangZero clearing out the memory zero location, creates totally TRASHED renderings on the 2500/30 I have at work, but works just fine on the 2550/20 I have at home (since I am the ONLY person who uses an Amiga at each location, I believe this is legal, since I can't be both places at once). Anyway — I LOVE this program, but do not have the time or energy to learn it on a "detective" basis (I don't do the New York Times crossword puzzles either). So, one thing I would very much like from a users' group is a set of "tutorial" sessions in which the members of this group who have mastered this software might actually create the tutorial session that Impulse _should_ have included in their docs. Also, if others are having the same problems I am with the 68030 chip, could we work to encourage Impulse to put a patch up here? (Why should I have to do constant upgardes for something like that, when they could UL a patch which would be of use only to folks who already had Turbo Silver 3.0). Anyway, those are my two cents. I define a users' group as a) providing shared experience, b) providing enough help to neophytes to permit them to "join the club" as easily as possible and c) to provide a unified voice for user/vendor interaction. My comments are directed, I think, to all three functions. Bottom line -this is a wonderful program. Someone PLEASE make it if not easy, at least rational, to learn! ?|^] Ray Lewis

John, Although I am more at ease with Sculpt than with TS, I would like to join the group as I am also waiting for Imagine. Please send me any imformation. Thanks

John, Please add my name to the growing Imagine/TS user group. May I plead that the format of the group does not rely only on 'live' conferences. The cost of access from Europe precludes that being effective for us long distance users (a 2 hour CO would cost around $75). I would be very interested in getting imagine tutorials from the library. Thanks, Phil Camp.

I didn't get your EMail, John. Could you send me a copy? The idea of a Silver/Imagine User Group is *very* exciting. -Brian

Missed me, apology accepted. I'm still interested in the Imagine/Silver User Group. How about a little graphics contest (ie: Stills not anims) between the User Group members? Bruno Kochan 76665,376
