Crash and burn in 3DSR3
5 messages in this thread
I was working on a fairly complex model in 3DS R3 (63000 faces so
far). When I get into the Lofter, do a Shapes/Get/Shaper and then try
to redraw the screen, like with a right click on the Zoom Extents
Icon, the screen blanks and I get the following message:
Abnormal program termination: Divide Overflow CS;EIP = 000Fh:002327D2h
ATI Technologies Inc. , Copyright 1989-93
Any ideas? I'm running 3DSR3 with the recent upgrade of Liquid Speed.
It sounds like you've got some corrupted data somewhere. If you can whittle
down the file so you've just got a few objects in the scene (less than 10K
faces), and it still happens, it's almost definitely corrupted data. If you
get it to that point and want me to look at it, zip up the .3ds file with a
text file explaining the problem and email it to me.

Ok, thanks. If I make the object as soon as I enter the lofter it seems to work
out and avoid the crash. I'll keep looking out for it and I'll send you a file
if I can isolate the problem.

You ought to try without LS loaded (use the hold-down-keys-at-startup trick) to
see if it's LS or 3DS. Also, you might try setting to a standard VGA mode,
too.

Ok, I'll try it. Thanks.
