Stephen, These two should be top on your list: Deluxe Paint – III (a must for animation!) DigiPaint-3 (newtek). This is preferable to the above if you are not concerned intensive animation, although you can 'link' DigiPaint-3 to DigiMate-3 (by another company) for animation capabilities.

Hi Ho: I own both of these. If you want to paint decide on your need s If you want to work with digitized photos ( like the David Hockney on the cover of the Los Angles Times Sunday Calender section. Then DigiPaint3 is the way to go. If not DeluxPaint3 can't be beat. Like I said I got'm both…. Brad Hyaes

Brad, I've looked at PhotonPaint 2.0 at a local store and was impressed with it's brush manipulation features. How does DigiPaint 3.0 compare to Photon for working with digitized images)? Also, I'd appreciate it if you could advise me on the best value in digitizers for capturing and doctoring captured VCR output?

A, well, uhh, I don't really know anything about PhotonPaint or digitizing of images. I do plane to buy a digitizer fairly soon. aI would probably look at Digi-View Gold 4.0. But again I am no expert here. Brad Hayes
