#English computer show

Betty,
How reliable do you consider the "gem" about CDTV being behind schedule
to be? Methinks it bodes ill if C= misses this Christmas season.
Harmonious Regards,
Homer
Could have ment FEB 91 for the UK pal version release?
Depends on what you mean by "missing" the Christmas season. It's not clear
how CBM plans to market CDTV. They waved their hands, said they'd go
high-end consumer electronics stores, whatever that means. In many
industries, "making" the end-of-year holiday sales rush means having the
product on the shelves in September.
Homer,
I have not idea whether this will apply to the US at all. This was an
English show – and they also do not have AmigaVision. In fact, Commodore
UK insists that it is not yet shipping. We'll just have to wait until the
dust settles. Last I heard, Commodore US was saying it will be out for the
Christmas sales.

Betty,
Hmmm, I'm confused…quoting last message:

sales.
Was this referring to AmigaVision? My dealer has already sold a dozen
copies (not including the ones that ship with A500s) and has a few sitting
on the shelf in the store. I assume this is before X-mas! 😉

Charles,
Please remember that Commodore UK and Commodore Canada and Commodore US and
Commodore Germany, etc., are all different companies, and do things
differently. The UK show indicated that CDTV would NOT be out for
Christmas in England. That does not necessarily mean it won' t be out for
them in the US. AmigaVision is definitely available in the US, but it is
NOT available in the UK yet. I can't explain these differences, but many,
many of them do exist.
