Ben, I've got my HAM-E too. Pretty nice, eh? 8^) How much adjusting did you have to do before you got a clean picture? I had to do quite a bit, but finally got it working to my satisfaction. I've coverted quite a few of my JX-100 scans to both HAM-E and REG format (lucky I'm on vacation this week and had to cancel my trip to Washington D.C.). I'd have to say that the software is still rather "young", but that comes with getting to the party early, I guess. 😉 I'll be a real happy camper when TADpro and its HAM-E module are released! One question: Are the pixels at the very top left of a non-overscanned HAM-E or REG image supposed to be visible? (They're part of the HAM-E triggering "cookie", I assume.) If not, perhaps I have a little more adjusting to do. -Dave-

The "cookie" is supposed to be visable, as far as adjusting goes my Ham-E stays closed with only 3 screws since I shuttle between 3 machines and don't want to keep fastening and unfastening 10 screws each time. Adjustments vary between each machine the least being between the 500P and 2000 the most goes to the 3000. I also adjusted the 3 inner RGB adj. Hint for Ham-E mode translations the lower the threshold the better! BEN Leigh's Computer's

Ben, I had to adjust a brightness pot as well to correct grey-scale image. This is not referenced in the manual specifically, so I will not repeat the details here. There is the beginnings of a HAM-E thread in Vendor that addresses this particular instance. Michael

Yep, those Pot Adj depend on what monitor your using. BEN Leigh's Computer's

Ben, what kind of software is included? I have already bought hardware which has had little software support…(Xspecs).

It ships with the Ham-E render program, and the 256 color paint package (ver 1.6 BBS) and a bunch of sample images. BEN Leigh's Computer's

Since Haitex burnt down, there has been no support for the X-specs except for the few PD/Shareware Programs (which happen to be excellent). Online here I found a program that accepts Sculpt 3D scenes and objects and renders them in X-specs 3D. Also, check out Opticks, a slow raytracer that also supports the X-specs. And..in case you didn't notice, DigiPaint3 supports the X-specs. Check out the documentation to see how to do it. It is quite easy. I have DigiView and I use it to digitize my own X-specs 3D images. I also like to use my 35mm camera to take two pictures, one three to four inches from the other, and digitize the image later. It works. If you have anything that you have gathered that supports the X-specs including PD programs and pictures/anims, I would be willing to trade some of the stuff I have done (not much really). I did do a nice 3D (X-specs) animation of the Amiga check mark (3d) rotating in space. I used the program online here called Scene3dX. Don't get discouraged either. From what I hear, Haitex will be going back in business with another 3D glasses product (bearing of different name) and of course some software. I'm crossing my fingers as I think the X-specs are awesome. Later…

Turbo Silver also supports them….but I was really hoping for some neat games (Falcon, etc..). But I can still have fun whith what I've got.
