#cdk Metaware, Pharlap
6 messages in this thread
I've got the CDK and the latest upgrades on my Pharlap & Metaware software
Im still having problems building the examples..I assume if I cant build the
demos
I cant build anything I write. Do I have too new of Pharlap ? The manual says
3.0 or 4.0 mine is 5.1 I think.
I had similar problems with building the examples until I downloaded the make
files for Metaware from the libraries. I finally decided to use the MAKE
program from my Microsoft C/C++ which worked much more effortlessly. SO maybe
you have the same MAKE problems
Tony
I've downloaded the updated make files and I have used microsoft's NMAKE it
gives me the same error. I'll take a look at my config maybe thats where the
problem is.
Hmm, sounds like you need to check the settings in your autoexec.bat. The
readme.txt in the 1.01 CDK is very helpful

I've been able to compile most of the examples in the original V1.0,
with HighC R3.04 & Pharlap 4.1. I had to modify the makefiles in
almost every instance. Generally, the metaware make complained about
the use of $* in the rsp clause. Also a few other things. The DOS
environment variables seem to be quite important. I also get a whole
lot of warnings when compiling and some runtime errors (objects in
bad format or some such. hard to read the msgs as they FLASH past.
anyone found a way to redirect warnings to a file or another
monitor?)
I just got the v1.01 stuff today and have started playing around with
it. It seems to work very differently. The rendering in V1 was
terribly slow, but the new version seems to be tiling in the
polygons. It flashes the screen TERRIBLY (VESA). If this is an
improvement, I'm going back to Rend386!
