I have heard a rumor that there is an Animator Pro version 2.0 out now. Is that
true? And if it is, don't registered users of v1.3 get mailed update info or
something? I'm new to the whole computer animation and modem thing…

The latter part of your statement seems to indicate that along with some of the
rest of us you don't feel that there will actually be a 2.0 Animator Pro.
Would one then also assume there will be an entirely different product
offering that one who has invested in Ani-Pro 1.3 may then upgrade too.
Why would Autodesk "patch" 24bit graphics code to an 8bit software package as
opposed to.. writting it/purchase it.. for the 24bit to begin with.
I for one would be interested in Beta Testing such a package. <BG>

I haven't really given up in my hope for an Animator pro 2.0, I just stopped
speculating about it. I haven't been able to get any kind of info on what's up
Adesk's/Jim Kents's sleeve. They're all very tight-lipped. I guess I'll have to
just wait for an official announcement.

all I know, which is public knowledge anyway, is that Jim Kent was hired by
Autodesk to work on "something". The "something" is what everybody's
tight-lipped on – but that's normal Adesk policy.

I guess this is begging the question…What is Jim Kent Really good at
doing? Sorry but I don't know Jim so I'm curious as to what his

Well, in the interests of idle speculation, lets' say that Jim Kent was hired
by Autodesk to upgrade AAP to a 24-bit version because the project is *so* ugly
the Yosters didn't want to tackle it and the subsequent announcement of the
competitive upgrade was part of an attempt to raise money and interest in the
product to both pay for the work and to see if it would really be worth doing.
(If this were TV's Police Squad, we'd now both be reciting that in {more or
less} unison.<g>)

a ha, of course, they are waiting for NT to get into wide use <grin>.

Sayyyyy Dave….have you ever noticed that the less law and order we have

Sorry, Stephen. No AniPro 2.0, at least not right now — and Autodesk's policy
is that they won't talk about something until they're ready to release it.
